We Believe -
The people of South
Heights Baptist Church of Sapulpa are a people of
strong
beliefs and convictions centered on our understanding of the Word of
God.
We have learned that the truth of the statement, "A man who
fails
to stand for something, will fall for anything."
Although we could fill multiple pages detailing what we believe as a
congregation,
we unapologetically take a stand for the following fundamental truths,
which should help you to understand us more fully.
We
Believe -
- That the Bible is the inspired, infallible, inerrant Word of
God,
and that it is our only rule of faith and practice.
- That the King James Version of the Bible is God's
preserved Word for English-speaking people.
- That all souls need salvation from their sins, and that Jesus Christ
paid the sin debt for all mankind so that we do not have to.
- That salvation is a free gift, bestowed upon all who choose to
receive
Jesus Christ by an act of their will, and that (salvation) is given to
us by Grace, through Faith, plus nothing.
- That in order to be saved, one must come to Christ in repentance for
one’s sins, and by an act of the will accept by faith the Lord Jesus
Christ
as personal Saviour. We do not believe that it is possible for anyone
to
live a life that is "good enough" to take them to heaven when they die.
- That the Bible is not a book of rules and regulations, but is,
instead,
a book of principles, and the second most important thing a person can
do in life is to learn and apply the principles for living found in it.
- That the Lord Jesus Christ will return for His Bride, the Church,
very
soon. Therefore, we encourage all whom God gives us the opportunity to
serve to live for Christ now, before their chance to do so has passed.
